Torioi Industries Employee Records
Though there are many hands working for Torioi Industries, a few names and faces in particular pop out from the rest...
Zamilan Malqir
Lead R&D
SPECIALIZATION:
Aetherochemistry, Material SynthesisNATIONALITY:
Azim Steppe - Malqir TribeBIO:
Miss Malqir was acquired very early on in the life of Torioi Industries, and is said to be Lady Torioi's most trusted employee despite the sometimes harsh attitudes displayed. Her work was instrumental to many of the company's successes, and it is rumored that without her, Torioi Industries would not be the rapidly growing giant that it is today.A brilliant mind like hers has no better home than Torioi Industries.
Iron Scale
Apprentice Engineer
SPECIALIZATION:
Aeronautics, Ceruleum ComponentsNATIONALITY:
Abalathia's SpineBIO:
From a small-scale model of an engine that caught Lady Torioi's eye at a tavern, Miss Iron rapidly earned herself an apprenticeship working for Torioi Industries. Though her current experience and skillset may be lacking compared to some of the senior engineers, it was her resolve and initiative that convinced Lady Torioi of her value for the company. An eager mind like hers has no better home than Torioi Industries.
Fiona Miroslavasch
Procurement
SPECIALIZATION:
Firearms Design, Resource ProcurementNATIONALITY:
BozjaBIO:
As part of the deal brokered between the Interim Bozjan Government and Torioi Industries, several skilled hands were sent to work under the latter's banner. One such woman was Fiona, handpicked by Lady Torioi herself based on a glowing review from her wife and an instinct for Fiona's skill. With her homeland in disarray, no doubt is Fiona pleased that her skills can still be of use.A resourceful mind like hers has no better home than Torioi Industries.
Minerva Silvus
Consultant
SPECIALIZATION:
Aetheric Engineering, Systems MaintenanceNATIONALITY:
???BIO:
The circumstances behind Miss Silvus's employment are remarkably vague. She appeared rather suddenly and was hired on the spot. Despite the importance of the projects she works on, she's given rather limited access compared to other employees of similar capabilities. Rumors float about of possible connections to Lady Demi herself, but Lady Seika dismisses and forbids all talk of such.An unusual mind like hers has no better home than Torioi Industries.
Alfonso Jasodi
Executive Assistant
SPECIALIZATION:
Coordination, Correspondence, DocumentationNATIONALITY:
South Aldenard - Ul'dahBIO:
Despite the legally questionable nature of how his previous employment was terminated, Alfonso was recruited by Lady Torioi as not simply a secretary, but as her right-hand man. Though he has little education in engineering, his aptitude for taking a mess of projects and people and organizing them sustainably had proven invaluable to his Ladies, and for the company at large. An organized mind like his has no better home than Torioi Industries.
Valued Business Partnerhips
Bolton Aeronautics
An early partner of Torioi Industries, this Ishgardian institution largely specializes in airships and airborne transports. The precision components that Torioi Industries produce are of high value to such work, and after a particularly gruesome incident in Coerthas, the two companies grew even closer, collaborating on projects both in public, and in secret.
Mystica Lunae
Though it would be natural to question what an industrial manufacturer wants with a magical emporium, the answer lies in the purpose of Torioi Industries. To innovate, and push beyond limits set by the generation past. When the founder of Mystica Lunae approached Seika with an offer of powerful artifacts that she could utilize in her machinery, in exchange for quality, crafted components, the choice was obvious. Opportunity exists everywhere- it only takes the right eyes to see it realized.
Interim Bozjan Government
In the wake of the Bozjan War, there was a pressing need to rebuild not only the people and society, but the defenses and might of the wounded nation of Bozja. With their homegrown technology proving to not be enough, they turned to foreign suppliers and companies to help assist in shoring up their vulnerabilities. Torioi Industries was more than happy to supply weapons and defenses in what would be the company's largest contract to date.
The Torioi Estate
Semper Altius Volans • Flying Ever Higher
Nestled into the Yanxian countryside, the Torioi Estate stands proudly apart from the wilderness that surrounds it in a testament to its Ladies' propserous success. The Estate has long been a fixture of the local landscape; families in the nearby village may recall it once served as home to a clan of samurai, spanning back centuries. Only relatively recently, during the Garlean Invasion, would the name Torioi become associated with the land -- the merchant family ascending into status by allying themselves with the Empire....At least, that is the rumor. Since the Estate has come under Lady Seika and Lady Demi's control, little has been spoken of its past. Recently the property has undergone a major renovation, marking a new era and transforming the manor and grounds into a home of the Ladies' own design.
Estate Housestaff & Residents
Ariuna Kha, House Manager
As Head of Housekeeping for the Torioi Estate, Ariuna's duty is to ensure that the manor is clean, stocked, and prepared both for the comfort of its residents and for guests at any given moment. Eyes and horns alert, she always knows who's coming and going and what the word is around the Estate.Though the woman left her previous position in Ul'dah under somewhat mysterious circumstances, she has proven to be nothing but a loyal and diligent servant to the Ladies Torioi thus far.
Haruto Hattori, Groundskeeper
Haruto serves as the Estate's Groundskeeper, content both to be left to the peace of nature as he upkeeps the sprawling grounds or to work in consult with his Lady upon landscaping matters. A kindly older man, he was hired for his work in the Doman Reconstruction efforts, having assisted with the cultivation of the One Garden.Despite a history fighting with the Liberation Front, Haruto has made it clear he looks only towards a future of peace - even when the reputation of the the Torioi name precedes it.
Zoya Nadezhdasch, Chirurgeon
Zoya is the Estate's resident chirurgeon, aiding both the Ladies Torioi and their staff in all things health and wellness. Her holistic approach to medicine and healing can be a little unconventional at times, but the results speak for themselves.Zoya formerly served as a Bozjan field medic; after enrolling at the Studium to hone her craft, she became an airship medic for the Bolton Aeronautics fleet. When Lady Demi suffered a near-fatal snake bite in Thavnair, she was hired on to be a live-in nurse and physical therapist - and stayed on after as a permanent member of the Estate staff.
Ser Eauvront Artelin, Knight in Training
A recent addition to House Torioi’s ranks, Ser Eauvront has sworn an oath to serve the Ladies Torioi whilst training under Lady Seika.Like many knights of Ishgard, Eauvront began his chivalric duty in the twilight of the Dragonsong War, where he aided in the defense of strategic strongholds against the Horde. After a major injury, the knight templar was relegated from the front and folded into the guard detail of a house of lower nobility where he swiftly ascended to a seat of command. At his previous Lord’s recommendation, he hopes to mirror such success far from home within the House Torioi.
Nibbles the Reindeer
The esteemed Torioi Family pet. Hand-raised by Lady Demi from a fawn, he has become a steadfast companion to Lady Seika as well, and has grown quite accustomed to life in Yanxia. When he is not lounging in his enclosure or out grazing on wildflowers, he often accompanies the Ladies on walks through the forest. In the colder months, the reindeer finds great joy in pulling his mothers in a specially-made sleigh.
Estate Map & Landmarks
The Torioi Estate comprises 25 acres of sprawling grounds and gardens and a grand Eastern-style manor at the center, surrounded on all sides by high walls that keep the interior guarded from view. The only gateways into the property are heavily surveilled and fitted with complex-looking locks. A rare few are allowed entry, whether for business or to visit with the Toriois as guests.
Outdoor Baths
These traditional Eastern baths draw upon natural wells beneath the Estate, tapping into mineral-enriched, geothermically heated waters within. A soak is said to be restorative for mind, body, and soul.
Private Beach
Outside of the Estate's protective walls but still belonging to its property rests a private white sand beach, complete with its own natural hot spring.
Eastern Garden & Koi Pond
A manicured garden featuring local flora, an Eastern-style gazebo for shade, and a koi pond with a wooden bridge built to cross it. The koi fish do have names -- ask Lady Demi if you wish to learn them.
Shrine Garden
A peaceful place of spiritual meditation within the Estate grounds. Built in respect and reverence to the Kami, the garden features a hokora for worship.
Bonding Tree
In a natural cherry grove within the Estate's surrounding forest stands a Doman dogwood sapling, a modest path leading to it. A tradition from Lady Demi's village, this tree was planted on the eve of the Toriois' marriage and represents the growing strength of their union.
The Ladies of Torioi
At the center of the Torioi legacy stand its matriarchs, Lady Seika and Lady Demi. What started as Seika simply hiring Demi to cater for a business meeting has blossomed into something remarkable -- a true union of two shining souls. In equal measure do they temper and refine each other, the whole much more than the sum of the parts.Together, the Torioi name is more than a business and an estate -- it is a legacy crafted by their hands, to soar high to the heavens above, each of them a wing carrying each other to successes now, and forever more.
Lady Seika Torioi
The founder of Torioi Industries, Lady Seika's ambition and conviction revived the company from the ashes into what it is today. Relentless in all of her pursuits, she holds a pragmatic view of the world, envisioning a future in which the common man can attain strength that is currently only reserved for "heroes". Despite all that have tried to decry her, she presses ever onwards, unfaltering in the pursuit of her own truth. The handcannon on her thigh is proof of this indomitable will, a true reflection of the heart that wields it.
Lady Demi Torioi
The proprietor of her own successful tavern, Lady Demi proudly serves as the charismatic social face of the Torioi Family. She is a driven, doggedly ambitious woman, constantly adding new endeavors and skills to her repertoire and refusing to accept her own limits. Do not mistake her kind heart and smile for weakness; she is a shrewd networker and a fierce protector of her household, her loyalty to Lady Seika unwavering. The twin pistols she carries are not simply for show.
